Is BAPLIE Viewer Online SOLAS compliant?

In 2016, the SMDG required that BAPLIE files include Verified Gross Mass (VGM) weights as part of an initiative called SOLAS (Save Our Lives At Sea).   As part of SOLAS, it is required that any packed container have a properly transmitted and formatted Verified Gross Mass (VGM). The VGM must be provided via EDI (electronic data interchange) format.

The BAPLIE version 2.2 includes this new field.

BAPLIE Viewer Online is compatible with all versions of the BAPLIE specifications.

In addition, BAPLIE Viewer Online can help you become SOLAS/VGM compliant by:

  • Converting an older version of BAPLIE file into the latest version
  • Copying non-VGM weights into the VGM weight attribute
  • Identifying which containers have anomalies or missing weights
